Mat 02 Environmental impacts from construction products – Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)

In BREEAM, MAT 02 focuses on environmental impacts from construction products, particularly through the use of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). EPDs provide transparent and standardised information on the environmental performance of construction products, helping assess their sustainability credentials.

Our team collates the EPDs for the construction products used in the project, preferably verified to internationally recognised standards such as ISO 14025 and EN 15804, and populates the data into the BREEAM specific calculator.

Compliance with MAT 02 entails ensuring that construction products with lower environmental impacts are selected based on the information provided in the EPDs.

This helps minimise the overall environmental footprint of the building or development and contributes to achieving sustainability goals.
