Training for the Cycle to MIPIM: Peter’s Blog 02

With conditions almost perfect, there was no excuse not to get out on the road and notch up a steady 100km and 4 hours of cycling on Saturday, followed by an easy 40km spin on Sunday.

Although we are still only in January, there was a slight hint of spring in the air, or maybe that was just wishful thinking!

Time in the saddle is a fundamental component of endurance training, so it is important to squeeze in long weekend rides when time permits to be prepared both physically and mentally.

The ride to MIPIM is not a race, we ride together and support each other out on the road for upwards of 10 hours a day for 6 days.

Next weekend will see an increase in distance and time, and forever the optimist, fingers crossed the sun will be shining!

For those who would like to support Peter, you can find his fundraising page here, and he’d be very grateful for your donation!
