L&P Group’s impact on the evolving City of London Skyline
L&P Group have played a pivotal role in shaping the ever-changing skyline of the City of London. With 100 + projects completed in the area, and another five projects currently in construction, L&P Group has left an indelible mark on the urban landscape, contributing to the engineering and technological advancements that define this iconic city.
Among the notable developments include 1 Liverpool Street, 5 Upper Broadgate, 20 Fenchurch Street, 51 Moorgate, 60 Moorgate, 100 New Bridge Street, 100 Wood Street, 101 Moorgate, 120 Aldercastle, 155 Moorgate, 250 Bishopsgate, Armourers Hall, Cutlers Court, Dashwood House, Devonshire Square, Folgate Place, Gibson Hall, London Wall, Lombard Street, Malt Street, Millenium Bridge House, Queen Victoria Street, Three Quays, Thomas Moore Square, Tower 42, Tower of London and Walsingham House.
At Tower 42, L&P Group are working with the building owners and facilities management team to harness the opportunities of plant end of life replacement budgets to achieve a Net Zero development. We have reviewed the cooling capacity utilising the latest IES modelling and reduced installed capacity by 2MW with no effect on the building operations. We have also reduced the installed substation capacity from 21 transformers to 15. This has all been masterminded to improve the EPC to an eventual goal of ‘A’, to make the oldest tower in the City of London the first Net Zero Carbon compliant building.
At 51 Moorgate, we worked on the refurbishment of eight floors of high-quality and sustainable Grade A office facilities, which received a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
At 20 Fenchurch Street we provided BMS upgrade consultancy at the iconic ‘Walkie Talkie’ building in central London.
At Dashwood House, L&P Group were appointed as Commissioning Managers with full duties to manage, co-ordinate, witness and sign-off all extensive mechanical, electrical and public health services, and systems to meet re- build and services replacement programme. The building achieved a BREEAM offices rating of ‘Excellent’.
Currently, at the Tower of London, and as part of the road to Net Zero, we are looking to implement ASHP to replace the existing boiler system and to generate efficiencies in the existing heating network. Additionally at 101 Moorgate and 1 Liverpool Street we are providing CMT and Validations Services on two commercially led developments, delivering Grade A office space, and retail on the ground floor.
As the City of London skyline continues to evolve, L&P Group remains at the forefront of innovation, ready to take on new challenges and contribute to the next generation of iconic landmarks.
