"THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT REGENERATION SITES IN LONDON, AND EVERYONE INVOLVED SHOULD BE HUGELY PROUD. THIS IS NOT JUST ABOUT BUILDING NEW HOMES BUT DEVELOPING NEW COMMUNITIES"

NEIL HADDEN, GENESIS HOUSING ASSOCIATION CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Stretching across 650 hectares, the wider development is on target to be the UK’s most connected space, with a planned green grid of secondary routes connecting old and new neighbourhoods.

L&P Technology helped develop a package in-line with L&P Engineering consisting of Incoming Services, Resilient Converged Network, Comms Room spatial planning & design, Comms Riser spatial planning & design, Electronic security and FIRS.

One of the challenges was that the technology cabling contractor changed halfway through the project leading to coordination issues later in the build. The other main challenge was the staggered release of the blocks by the builder in line with their programme and ensuring that all services for the opened blocks were operational and functioning optimally.

A converged network system (CNS) was adopted so all building systems (VLANs) were able to operate on a resilient single, open network. All blocks were serviced via a single large MTR enabling future expansion of any further systems and associated equipment.
