Learning and Leading: My Experience in Sustainability

Starting my journey as an Apprentice Engineer has been very informative and introduced me to new career paths that I was not previously aware of. Each day brings new challenges and learning opportunities that push me to grow both personally and professionally. I have been surrounded by a team of experienced engineers who are incredibly supportive and willing to share their knowledge.

One of the most rewarding aspects has been seeing the projects I’ve worked on come to life. Whether it’s designing a component that improves efficiency or helping to certify a building with a BREEAM or WELL Green Certification, the sense of accomplishment is very rewarding. For example, at Lucent, I started out assisting and monitoring the buildings WELL Certification, and now I am the WELL Administrator of the project. The building has been featured on the Piccadilly Lights which was a really proud moment for me and the team!

I’ve also learned the importance of teamwork, communication, and continuous learning in engineering. I am excited to continue this journey and see where it takes me in the future!
